Primavera del 2011, esa es la fecha elegida por la compañía americana Chevrolet para lanzar al mercado la nueva versión de su Captiva, un interesante SUV de amplias proporciones y mucha potencia. Aquellos curiosos que deseen conocer un poco más sobre este coche, pueden acercarse hasta el Salón de París, o seguir leyendo estas líneas.

Comenzaremos por el aspecto exterior, dónde los norteamericanos han decidido (previsiblemente) acercar este modelo al estándar de su catálogo: nuevo logotipo, nueva parrilla frontal, luces LED intermitentes en retrovisores, faros rediseñados y nuevas molduras en el capó. Destaca la interesante oferta en llantas: 17”, 18” o 19”.

El equipamiento de serie no varía demasiado, pero incorpora algunas funciones muy útiles en materia de dinámica, como el control de tracción TCS, el sistema de frenado asistido BAS y el control de estabilidad ESC. Se agrega además la posibilidad de adaptar la disposición de butacas para contar con 7 plazas o 5 plazas (y mayor espacio para equipaje).

Finalmente, en lo que a motores respecta hay una oferta bastante concisa, cimentada en dos motores diesel y dos motores a gasolina. Los primeros llevan la misma cilindrada (2.2 litros), difiriendo solamente en la potencia (163 CV y 184 CV), mientras que la segunda pareja se compone de un motor 2.4 litros (171 CV) y un motor 3.0 litros (258 CV). Cualquiera de ellos puede utilizar tracción 4x2/4x4 y utilizar caja manual o automática (siempre de seis cambios).
