Mercedes-Benz está “en llamas” y anuncia una novedad tras otra. Cuando han pasado nada más unos días desde que se le incorporara el nuevo motor 5.5 litros V8 Bi-Turbo a la coupé CL63 AMG (reemplazó el 6.2 litros V8 atmosférico anterior), ahora recibimos la misma noticia en el S63 AMG, preparado para el próximo mes.

El nuevo motor sobrealimentado es uno de los intentos más esforzados de Mercedes-Benz por brindar un funcionamiento austero sin perder desempeño mecánico. Como resultado, tenemos un coche 25% más eficiente que en la versión anterior (10.8 l/100km y 244g/km de CO2), capaz de alcanzar los 250 km/h auto-limitados electrónicamente y acelerar de 0 a 100 km/h en 4.5 segundos.

Tanto en la versión normal como en la que incorpora el AMG Pack, es utilizada la caja automática AMG Speedshift de 7 cambios, equipada con tres modos diferentes: Manual, Confort y Sport. También se ha incorporado el sistema Start&Stop, que facilita el ahorro de combustible y la reducción de emisiones, optimizando los momentos de frenado y arranque del motor.

Finalmente en lo que respecta a la parte estética, el aura deportiva está por todas partes: salida de escape cuádruple cromada, tapizados de cuero, llantas de aleación 20” revestidas con neumáticos 255/35 (eje delantero) y 275/35 (eje trasero), detalles de aluminio… en fin, un coche ideado para imantar a potenciales compradores.
